Jesus Murphy: Blog Story (12)

- Chapter 12 -
Little Sister

It was hot and humid in Bethlehem the day Michael Christ Sr. and his wife brought home their fourth child. Mr. Christ laughed and tears streamed down his rosy cheeks and fell like waterfalls onto his burly belly. Evangeline Christ craddled her daughter proudly in her arms, rocking her gently as her two eldest boys came running up the hall, smiling and laughing as the nanny chased their tales, .

"I wanna see her!" Michael said, pushing in front of his younger brothers to catch a peek at the new baby.

"What's her name, mom?" Martin asked, tugging at his mother's skirt. He barely reached her waist and stood on his tippy-toes to get a glimpse of his sister.

"Give your mother some room to breathe, boys," Mr. Christ said amidst burst of laughter, unable to catch his breathe himself. Later, Evangeline had told her kids that she had never seen her husband laugh so much in her life.

Michael and Martin ran to the lavish living room in the west wing, the one reserved for special occasions. Only the oldest child remembered his parents hosting an event in this room - Mr. Christ was a wealthy politician in the big city of Jerusalem - Martin was too young and Malcom was barely a year old.

The two brothers were sitting still when their parents finally joined them by the fire. Martin thought, with the glow of the fire reflecting off her, that his mother ressembled an angel. Yes, she had fair hair and skin white as snow but what really stood out to Martin was her smile and the joy that radiated from that smile. A smile that could warm any childs heart.

Evangeline caught him admiring her and blew him a kiss. She sat on the rocking chair and began to bounce her feet just ever so slightly, rocking gently back and forth. "Her name is Mary" she said, kissing the top of her baby's soft head.

"I love that name, mom!" Martin said, jumping off his chair and running to his mother. She giggled and gently lowered the blanket to show her new daughter to her admiring son.

Mr. Christ was resting against the massive oak mantle piece above the fireplace in his most expensive suit. It was custom to search the closet for the one and only three-piece suit and dust it off before joining your wife at the hospital. His eldest, Michael Jr., was immitating his father. He tried to seem taller by craning his neck and stepping on the tip of his toes.

As much as Martin enjoyed his sister and her arrival, Michael was more excited about having his father around the house again. While Martin was capable of taking care of himself, even at the tender age of six, Michael was unaware of how things worked around the house. He was two years older, yet had little to no knowledge of responisbility and care of one's self. He shadowed his father everywhere he went.

Mr. Christ was just about ready to bring the match to the tip of his cigar when the first of many explosions sounded off in the distance. The kids jolted and their nanny came rushing into the living room with the other baby, Malcom.

"It is the Sicarii, sir. They have opened fire against the Agency" Mabel screamed as she came into the family room, Malcom dangling a little too loosely off her hip. Evangeline gently handed over Mary to her husband and grabbed both the boys by the hands. They cried as she guided them towards the backyard.

"Come on, cowboys, to the backyard" Evangeline half-whispered. Michael seemed calm enough but Martin detected the panic in her tone.

The Christ family was fortunate enough to be born into money and never had to worry about bomb shelters and survival kits. They had everything they needed in their backyard bunker. Michael Jr. was never really aware of the real problems that affected the people outside the walls of Christ Manor. Martin, however, was very much aware of the present danger that lingered in the city streets.

When they reached the back door, the city sirens were blaring loud pulses, warning the citizens of Bethlehem to seek shelter immediately. The Sicarii was a very powerful organization with ties to the Fallen Angel. The Jerusalem War was looming overhead and the arial strike tonight began it all. Nothing would be able to stop the War now. Once begun, it would never cease.

Evangeline finally made it to the bunker. She struggled with the heavy door but was finally sucessful in her attempts to pry the damn thing open. She shooed her two boys in and just then Mabel stepped out with Mary and Malcom.

"Where's Michael?" Evangeline gasped, when she noticed her husband wasn't besides the plump nanny.

"He took up arms in the front lawn. Says he will fight back" Mabel answered, in her usual broken english. She handed over the infant Malcom and baby girl Mary over to their mother. Evangeline placed them down gently in the makeshift cribs and looked severly at her two eldest children.

"Stay here. Don't make a sound. And make sure nothing happens to Mary." She warned them. Fear had now found and nestled itself in the bottom of Martin's stomach. His mother seldom talked with such a shaky voice. She was going to find their father. And something in her tone foreshadowed her fate. Evangeline Christ was leaving them in the bunker to find her husband, and she didn't think she was coming back.

She turned around to mask the tears that were rolling down her cheeks and gave out her last order to Mabel before shutting them all up in the bunker and sealing the door off to the rest of the world. She placed two fingers to her lips and then glided them over the solid metal door.

"Goodbye my loves" She said to herself in the midst of the explosions and the ear-splitting sounds that eminated from the bombs. She spun around and ran through the house to join her husband.

God Darn Pop Music!

Ok so there has been some form of Pop Princess resurfacing of late and each time another dumblette releases a track I immediately despise it. They all have the same synchronized beats in the background and they all seem to be mimicking Michael J. Fox by repeating every single word they say multiple times. Worst is when only one syllable is repeated (Po-po-po-poker face, Pa-pa-paparazzi)

With that being said, Pop Music is the Darth Vader of subtle addictives. It latches onto your brainwaves like a leech on bloody skin and doesn't let go until you are completly and utterly head over heals for the song. For example:

I hated that song when it first came out. But then I fell victim to it's genius video. Did y'all see the choreo for that vid? It's insane! And who doesn't like a short movie about whales reproducing? Oh...it wasn't about whale reproduction?? *looks away*

******

Another crazy pop-sync song that is stuck under the nerves of my brain tissue is Britney's new song. I know, I hate myself too, but what gives: the song is actually really good. It makes you wanna jump up and burn those calories. The video is "meh" at times but I like the nods to past Brit videos. You know, before she shaved her head and started to act like Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise meshed togheter. Here's a glimpse of Til The World Ends:

Smile all you want BritBrit, the lights are on but nobody's home!

*****

Oh but move over dumblettes, and leave space for the ultimate disturbance in the force: mega-goth chich Rihanna. She went from carribean princess to RiRi- Princess of the Dark Nights. Anyone else creeped out by her avid leather wear, her studs and spikes, and worst of all, that flaming red hair? Did she not learn from Lindsay Lohan? Red hair = Trouble. But then again, it doesn't seem like anything can halt RiRi's strong career moves. Let's check out her S&M video. Song is sick, video is rad!

Apparently her video is too sultry for users. I hope this video isn't just a screen shot of her lips. Who uploads these things??

*****

I name these three but Jesus Murphy are there ever more of them popping up or coming back for another shot at stardom. To name a few: Fefe Dobson, Avril Lavigne, Elize Estrada, Christina Aguilera, Rebecca Black (!!). When will there be a resurfacing of artists? I miss those!

Jesus Murphy: Past, Present, and Future

It came to my attention that the timeline in Jesus Murphy: Blog Story may be confusing to some, while downright labyrinthesque for others. Well my blog-reading fellows, this is a breakdown of the multiple timelines that flow in the Jesus Murphy: Blog Story universe. Title ain't cool enough to be called Jesusiverse. That's to come though, don't you all worry!

On a sidenote, I will not include story arcs that happen BEFORE or AFTER the life and death of Jesus Murphy. We can assume that if Martin Christ is playing with toys, it's cause it happened before Jesus Murphy's life; and that if Madonna Riviera has grey hair and grandchildren, well, you get the picture.

There are three main timelines in the story:

Just Before Jesus' birth ---- (Year 0)
As Jesus goes through life, there will sometimes be flashbacks (mostly for other characters) that happen before the actual narritive. Jesus has three periods in life that have marked him. Year 7 of life, Year 16, and Year 33. Depending on where we are situated in the present, when the narrative needs to go in the past, I will use the markers that are found in the brackets (7 years earlier, 16 years earlier, 33 years earlier)

Jesus' Adolescence - Early Adulthood ---- (Year 16 - Year 24)
Jesus doesn't really start growing as a person, an individual until he steps foot inside Nazareth High and forms his rockband with his friends and meets the beautiful Maggie Saint. This is the timeline we will see the most from Jesus' point of view. It's the years that marked him, formed him ,and eventually prepared him to do what he was destined to do.

Just Before Jesus' death ---- (Year 33)
I think you can kind of grasp why this year is important to him. Death and all looming around every corner.

There will be story arcs however that will NOT be marked by time periods as I find that too constructive. I don't like saying too much about time and location, let your imagination plug in those holes!! So far we had a short 3 part story arc for Madonna Riviera which was set in Year 0, and that one however I did mark "7 years earlier" just because it wasn't clear that it was a story arc (please review past chapters, Madonna Riviera is by far the most intriguing character and soon will become a...)

There is a current story arc that will run from Chapter 12 to Chapter 17 and it will concentrate on the earlier years of the Christ Family and the reasoning behind Michael and Mary's falling out.

Watch out for a contest when I return to the OG storyline in Chapter 18. I will ask y'all to create a character's name. Stay tuned for that!!

Chapter 13 from a short story

---LAST CHAPTER BEFORE THE EPILOGUE :( ---

So we know by now what happened in Crystal Lake eight years prior to Sarah coming back to visit her bapcia for the summer. We know she has a fragile relationship with Travis and a budding relationship with Tyh. She learns of the devastating attack that Pamela Voorhees committed eight years prior and of the death of her childhood friend, Melinda.

Dan Dubois and Dana Roy were just about to get cozy when something interrupted them, prompting Dan to leave and Dana to investigate, leading to her untimely death.

Sarah and Tyh have gotten jobs working at the newly re-opened Camp Crystal Lake. Sarah meets some of Tyh's friends, Jessica Paquette and her boyfriend Jacob Tibbett, who later come face to face with death.

The main couple's relationship gets stronger and they are anxiosuly awaiting the party to begin later that night. They have supper with Bapcia before heading out to the party at Camp Crystal Lake to celebrate the opening and to get better acquanited with the rest of the counselors.

They meet up with Dan Dubois and Liane Labrie by the hiking trail where the foursome splits up, leaving Liane to trek the trail alone. While the other three are busy canoeing to the Camp, Liane is hunted down and murdered by Jason Voorhees.

Before the trio have a chance to dock at the beach camp, Michael O'Shay and his girlfriend, Sandra Clarke, are fatally attacked by psychopath Jason Voorhees. The trio finally arrive at the beach and are ready to party with their friends and Tyh is anticipating presenting Sarah to his friends.

They mingle togheter around the bonfire, Sarah getting better acquainted with some of Tyh's friends and realise some are nicer then others. As the night grows and the teens get intoxicated they slowly start to seperate. Kevin and Meredith head towards their cabin. We learn that Meredith is cheating on her boyfriend with different people. The rain has started to fall and the teens are getting restless.

While Yasmina and Patrick head to their cabin, Meredith and Kevin are ruthlessly murdered by Jason Voorhees. Dan, Sarah, and Tyh start a game of cards that quickly turn to a more heated session between the later two. They ask Dan to give them a moment alone leading to Dan's murder.

Yasmina and Patrick return from their cabin. Yasmina was sleeping but Patrick/Jason continued his murder spree and we eventually learn of his true origin. However, the remaining trio are unaware of Patrick's dark secret.

He returns from his cabin and leads Tyh outside to the docks. He struggles with Mother before finally attacking Tyh and drowning him in Crystal Lake.

Yasmina and Sarah are getting better acquainted when Jason stumbles into their cabin. They attempt to flee, resulting in Yasmina's untimely demise. Sarah runs and hides inside the main lodge where she finally finds out that Patrick Vance is Jason Voorhees. She tries to attack him, wounding him severly in the shoulder before he knocks her out.

Sarah wakes up, distraught and dissillusioned. She tries to talk with Jason but it is pointless. She slowly drifts into her mind, where she finally finds the courage to fight back.

This is what transpired:

13
Rot in Hell

Sarah opened her eyes and looked at Jason. He was stroking his machete
gently, whispering to himself. She swore she heard him say “mother” a few
times. Sarah looked around the room for her scissors or the knife. She
couldn’t find them.

“Sleeping beauty finally woke up” He said as he got up the chair. He
walked around her, kissing her here and there.

“What are you doing…Jason? You know they’re going to be here any moment
now.” She said weakly, the blood loss taking a toll on her beaten body.
She had to force herself to call him by his real name. Jason.

“And who’s that?”

“The police” Sarah spat out, jerking at her restraints.

“The police?” He laughed. “You mean old sheriff Jones? What’s he going to
do? Nobody in this town was even smart enough to recognize me when I came
back to this shithole. Nobody even suspected Patrick Vance. They’ll be in
for a surprise when they go at the house.” He said aloud, almost to
himself.

“You murdered them didn’t you? Your adoptive family?” Sarah asked,
somewhat afraid of staying silent. He seemed keen on talking and if only
she could stall him until someone shows up. She knew her grand-mother was
the one screaming in the voicemail.

“Why would I murder them, Sarah? They took me in, cared for me, and loved
me. They gave me a second chance. They changed my name so I can become my
own man.”

“And look what happened.” She laughed as she said that; a sarcastic snicker.

“She’s been harassing me to kill you now for over half an hour. You’re
lucky so I suggest you don’t push that luck and keep your witty comments
to yourself. I wouldn’t want to go chainsaw massacre on your ass.” He said
quickly, peering out the kitchen window. “Not yet, anyways.”

Sarah felt that lump in her throat, the one she gets every times her
nerves are shot. Her wrists were red with welts, marks of her efforts at
breaking her restraints. Several lamps had since burned out, creating a
very forbidding atmosphere. She saw no way out of this situation and death
was creeping around the corner. But he mentioned someone telling him to
kill her. And he is resisting for some reason, Sarah thought. She had to stall him.

“Do you have an earpiece or something? WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING TO?”
She screamed, making him leave the window he had been obsessively looking
out of.

“I’m talking to my mother” He snarled, smacking her across the face.

Kill her boy. Stop toying with her and finish the whore. Get rid of this
piece of sinning meat; this good for nothing bitch. Kill her, Jason. Kill
her!

*****

Krystyna was examining the forest around her as she trekked the narrow ATV
trail. The rain had subsided and the clouds had started parting ways. They
hadn’t seen anything suspicious since discovering the remains of Liane
Labrie. Sheriff Jones was walking somewhere ahead at a quicker pace. She
called Sarah’s cell again and again but nothing came of it. She could be
listening to music or swimming, she said to herself.

“There’s a body in the water” Dean screamed to her. They had reached the
tip of the lake. That meant they were about fifteen minutes from the
campground. Krystyna quickened her pace to reach Dean when she heard the
distinctive twang of a bow. A golden-coloured arrow ripped through her
shoulder as another, a few seconds later, pierced through Dean Jones’
chest.

“HAAAAA!”

Krystyna fell to her knees, clutching at the blood-spattered arrow. “DEAN!
GET UP!” She called out again but he didn’t answer. The frail elder
gripped her gun and pointed it at the dark forest.

“I HAVE A GUN, JASON. DON’T COME ANY CLOSER.”

“You’re a smart woman. How did you know it was me?” The voice sounded near
and far and nowhere in particular. It echoed off the trees and made
Krystyna cringe. That was the voice of Patrick Vance.

“OW” she cried, the pain from her wound shooting down her body. “You kill
like your psychotic mother.” She gasped, crying from sheer pain. “I read
in a book somewhere that said that the pup is often –“

“SHUT UP!” Jason screamed out from the woods. She gasped and backed up
against the willow that stood behind her. Krystyna couldn’t see where he
stood or what he was about to do. She clutched the gun tighter and looked
about.

“Drop the gun or I promise you I will murder your grand-daughter.”

Krystyna began crying hysterically, pleading with him to leave Sarah
alone. She threw the gun in the forest and Jason finally stepped into
view. Krystyna could still not believe that Patrick Vance was Jason
Voorhees.

“Another Friday the thirteenth Jason?” She asked, watching him walk closer
towards her. His walk was slow and eerie. His eyes expressed pure evil.
She prayed to her good Lord above and asked him to watch over her
grand-daughter. She knew her time was about to end.

“Another Friday the thirteenth” He answered, unsheathing his machete from
his back. “Have a good night, Krystyna.” He swung the blade sideways,
decapitating the old woman. Her body flopped to the ground as her head
rolled down into the calm tide of Crystal Lake.

“I always wanted to do that, bitch!”

*****

Jason was walking back towards the main lodge when he noticed all of the
lights had gone out. He strung an arrow to his bow and cautiously made his
way towards the main door. He pushed the door open and stepped inside. The
cabin was dark but he could clearly see that Sarah was not in the kitchen
any longer.

He screamed and shoved the chair against the wall. “WHERE THE FUCK ARE
YOU, BITCH?!”

“Right here, asshole”

Jason spun around and saw Sarah by the stairs. She was holding a pistol in
her hands and she wasn’t alone. Tyh was standing beside her, looking quite
alive.
“I killed you, you piece of shit!” Jason spat.

“When you attempt to murder your friend” Tyh began “You better make sure
he stops breathing before leaving him to die.”

Jason laughed and then he looked at Sarah. She was shaking, barely able to
stand on her own two feet. Her torso was stained a dark red and a small
wound bled out profusely. Her bra was crisp with dried blood and her thigh
bled freely. She aimed the gun towards him and his grin quickly vanished.

“You don’t have what it takes to kill someone, Sarah.” He said bleakly.
For once, it was he that was trembling with fear. He kept his arrow on the
chord, ready to release it at any moment. Sarah held the gun firmly in her
hands, ready to shoot at any moment.

“When you know what you’re fighting for, you will do anything to survive”
She said handing the gun over to her boyfriend. He cocked the gun and
pointed the barrel’s eye straight at Jason. “Fuck you” Tyh closed his eyes
and pulled the trigger.

Jason released the arrow seconds before receiving the bullet in the chest.
The small projectile ripped through his body and lodged in the solid maple
wall behind him. He slumped to the floor and his bow fell beside him.
Across the room, Sarah was crying in pain. She looked down at the arrow
that was protruding from her chest, just a few inches from her other
wound.

“I’m not – ” blood trickled out of her mouth and her eyes rolled back,
leaving only a white sphere in their place. She jerked, twitched, and
flailed. Tyh grabbed her just as she was about to fall. He cradled her in
his arms and carried her to the door and looked back at Jason.

He wanted to scream at him, release the anger that had built up inside his chest since

waking up in the boathouse. Instead he wished Jason a nice stay wherever it was his
soul was heading to: “Rot in hell."

The Veggie Dog

So I have been a vegetarian for almost a month now and my true task, the one that will prove if I am in this for the long run or not, is still accumulating frost in my freezer. Yes, I am referring to the infamous Veggie Dog. If the regular "meat" hot-dogs scare you, imagine a blackened wiener you just know is filled with beans. ODD!

Actually, I don't even think it's the colour of the sausage that truly frightens me from eating it. It's the weird wrapping they decided to put the wieners in. Clear casing around with a clinical white cover etched with medical blue writing. Seriously? Might as well write "HOSPITAL FOOD" on it, because that is what it reminds me of.

OMG, doesn't this look just sublime?
Right now, though, they are resting calmly in the bottom shelf of my freezer, waiting patiently for me to try them out. I am scared though, they don't look like regular hot-dogs. I know most people are probably scratching their heads thinking: "He is afraid of veggie dogs but can eat the "real" deal without problems?"

When you've been raised eating meat, it's the other stuff that kinda gets hold of you. Now, if I had been born and raised a vegetarian, this blog would have been title "The Meat Dog" and I would be going on and on about how light coloured it is, and silky on the outside and how lucky that I have multiple brands to choose from.

But nooo, I had to be born a meateater and turn drastically to lettuce leaves and carrot tops. Aha, carrot tops!

So I guess I will have to confront the cold arctic winds that greet me when I reach the land of the Veggie Dog. Ugh, but they look so gross...

This is what transpired:

12
I’m Fighting for All of You

Jason was sitting in front of Sarah. He was looking through her cell phone
and laughed when he heard Krystyna’s panicked voice in several messages.
Sarah could only hear a faint murmur emitting from the phone but she knew
it was her bapcia. She shut her eyes, creating a river of tears across her
lids. She was trying to lose herself, grow numb, and shrink away. Abandon.
She heard him throw the phone against the wall.

He was shouting at her and she could tell he was close by the amount of
saliva that was being spat on her as he belittled her. Her body ached and
her head throbbed. She was faint and the feeling of losing blood was
slowly draining her. He continued his tirade and sat back down.

She wasn’t paying attention, however. She was in a meadow of carnations.
The wind blew pedals over her as she lay in the field as if a carnation
herself. The breeze carried a fragrant smell, one mixed with sweetness and
bitterness. She was laughing with someone. She looked over and saw her
mother. Someone else was touching her hand. She turned to the other side
and saw her bapcia.

“Isn’t it beautiful” She said to the women she cared most about.

“It is” They answered together. “But isn’t always such” her mother continued.

“Sometimes the smallest weed will fight to live amongst the carnations”
Krystyna added, holding on dearly to Sarah’s hands. “They haven’t the
right, though, and they know it. Weeds have their own field.”

“There isn’t a weed in sight” Sarah said, sitting up and looking around
the endless field. It stretched for miles and miles. She couldn’t see
where it ended or where it began.

“That is because sometimes they cover themselves up. They have masks”
Krystyna said, sitting up herself. Eva remained on the ground, humming
sweet tunes from Sarah’s childhood. It made Sarah smile.

“How do you know which ones are the weeds, then?” Sarah asked as she
twirled her auburn hair around her fingers.

“You don’t” Krystyna answered. “Not until they remove their masks”

“But then it’s too late” Sarah pleaded. She looked down at her mother who
was still humming lullabies. “Why isn’t mother getting up? Why is she
humming?”

“Because you have lost her” A voice answered which didn’t belong to
Krystyna. Sarah found Travis sitting in front of her. He was all in white
and his shaggy mane danced in the wind. Krystyna had mysteriously
disappeared. “Just like you lost your bapcia and eventually me. Then all
of us. Even you.”

“What is going on?”

“You’ve lost hope, Sarah.” Travis sighed. “When you lose that, you lose
everything. You have what nobody else has.” He continued wisely.

“I don’t even know what you’re talking about, Travis. Why are you even here?”

“I’m here to help you figure out what you are fighting for.” He added
while gently grabbing onto her hands. He looked in her eyes and smiled.
“Sarah, you don’t have to wait any longer. The weed has removed its mask.”

“What weed? Why are you all being so cryptic? This field is alive with
carnations.”

“If you don’t focus, Sarah, I will disappear forever. You will be alone in
this field for eternity.”

“I don’t even like you anymore, Travis. I’ve moved on.” Sarah whispered
looking away from her past love. He bowed his head and sighed.

“So has he” He answered to Sarah’s surprise. “You have to fight for what
remains. You have to for all of them.”

Sarah looked around and saw everyone she had ever met in her life. They
we’re all there. They smiled and waved, some even talked amongst each
other. Yasmina stepped out of the crowd and looked directly at Sarah.
Although she could see lips move and expressions of laughter, no sound
could be heard except for the voice of the girl looking at Sarah.

“The weed has removed the mask. It’s vulnerable, Sarah. You have to end
this. You have to fight. Do you know what you’re fighting for? DO YOU?!”
Yasmina screamed the last part, sounding more military then Sarah had
remembered.

“I’ve always known what I was fighting for.” She said, finally realizing
what she had to do. She had to end this. She looked at a select group of
people who stood out from the crowd. They were the only ones looking back
at her; Kevin, Meredith, Yasmina, Dan, Tyh, Sandra, Liane, Jacob, Michael,
Dana, and Jessica. “I’m fighting for all of you”

Jesus Murphy Blog Story (11)

- Chapter 11 -
Duty and Honour

The morning sun was creeping up over the mountains. It illuminated the meadow that surrounded the beat up pickup truck. The bright light warmed the soft skin of Jesus' eyelids. He opened his eyes, adjusted his sight to the glowing landscape and shifted in his sleeping bag. His growth spurt was apparent by his awkward crouched position within the sac. He fit easily inside a few years ago.

"It's time you change that sleeping bag, cowboy" Martin said as she approached the pickup, fresh fruits in hand.

Jesus sat up and catched a ripe orange just in time. He smiled and his blue eyes sparkled. The roadside dinners could make excellent fried food but what Jesus craved the most was the juice of a fresh fruit. He inhaled the fragrant smell of the orange as he peeled off the skin.

"You look famished" Martin laughed between bites off his own orange.

"It's been a while since we had these" Jesus answered back.

They remained quiet, enjoying the early morning breeze and the sounds of the wild birds. Jesus couldn't help but to think of Joan, of her silky blonde hair, of her smile that curved just slightly when she looked at him. Going back to his hometown was something Jesus wasn't looking forward to. So many secrets were kept there, memories trapped in time.

"What you said last night had me thinking," Martin said, finally breaking the silence. He rested his back against the truck, he golden locks enhanced by the rising sun. He looked at Jesus, "When we get to Jerusalem, I'll tell you everything you need to know about everything."

Jesus was apprehensive; Martin had made such promises before with no rate of succes. He threw the remains of his orange to the ground and proceeded to roll up his sleeping baf. He kept a watchful eye on Martin.

"Why the sudden change of heart?" Jesus asked.

"I made a promise long time ago, Jesus," Martin started, "One I have to honour. Our past and our future depends on that."

"Depends on what? You telling me the truth?"

"Our fate is in your hands, Jesus. It's all I can say for now. Everything I have done has been to protect you. That is my duty, and you have to understand that."

Jesus placed all of his stuff in the corner of the truck them jumped to the ground. "That's what you always say and then I never get any form of follow up. I am not a kid anymore! I don't need your protection!"

"I know you aren't. And that's why i'll explain everything once we get to Jerusalem. We'll be safe there." Martin replied as he got inside the pick-up.

Jesus sighed and hopped in the passenger side. He knew he would only get half-answers from Martin. It would most likely only get worst once they got back to Jerusalem.
